Corporate Associate/Senior Associate Role

This is a fantastic role for a motivated and an ambitious associate/senior associate solicitor who enjoys winning new work and who is looking to put their mark on a growing team. The ideal candidate will be proactive, self-motivated and will become an integral part of the senior team and decision-making processes.

Role:

We are looking for an experienced solicitor with a solid corporate background to join our corporate team. The ideal candidate will need to be well versed in all aspects of corporate law including corporate sales, acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures, corporate restructuring and general corporate advisory work.

This role provides great scope for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to carve a niche role with a firm full of team spirit and where your achievements are easily recognised and rewarded.

It is anticipated that this will be a full time, permanent position based at the company’s central Birmingham office and that you will help establish Legal Clarity as a positive choice for owner managed businesses locally and nationally.

Corporate & Commercial Property Paralegal

Job description:

We are recruiting for a full-time corporate & commercial property paralegal, to join our busy corporate/property teams. Prior experience in a corporate/commercial property law firm would be preferred, but not essential, as full training will be given.

Type of Vacancy: Full-time Paralegal (at least 35 hours per week).

Salary: Competitive.

(Note: Flexible working is offered although the candidate will be required to be in the office majority of the week).

Requirements:

  • The candidate must have qualified either the LLB or GDL
  • Candidate must have a 2:1 (equivalent) in LLB/GDL
  • Candidate must have completed the LPC (equivalent)
  • LPC electives must consist of at least one of the following: Corporate Law/Mergers & Acquisitions/ Commercial Law/Property Law, Banking or Business Law
  • Cover letter is required, any applications without a cover letter will not be considered.

The successful candidate will be assisting on company secretarial matters, corporate and commercial property transactions and post completion matters including updating company statutory registers, together with Companies House and HMLR filings.

Undertaking legal research, preparing documents, attending meetings, and corresponding with both our solicitors and clients.

They will also be required to complete general offices duties such as filing, drafting documents, sending correspondence, dealing with clients incoming and outgoing post and telephone queries.

There is a genuine opportunity for the right candidate to progress and be offered a Training Contract after the first 12 months (subject to performance). To date 3 of our qualified solicitors and our current trainee, joined us as a Paralegal.

Other skill, knowledge or experience sought:

  • Prior experience in a corporate law firm would be preferred but not essential
  • Experience in using the Land Registry Portal
  • Experience in completing/submitting Companies House forms/using Companies House web filing
  • Drafting board minutes/resolutions
  • Experience in using a legal CMS system (such as LEAP)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Organisation and time management skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Flexibility and the ability to anticipate the needs of solicitors and clients
  • Strong work ethic, hardworking and positive attitude
  • Exemplar use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, outlook and excel.
